Ok – so here I am a 47 year old woman who had a partial hysterectomy following a tumor that decided it wanted to explode inside me about 7 years ago or so….
That sent me into an early perio- menopause where the hot flashes began (for me in the middle of the day) and the sleepless nights along with the sinus issues! All of a sudden I was allergic to everything – even the medicine I was taking to relieve the symptoms – so I was put on prednisone –
In a study done by the FDA – 75% of all menopausal women from the ages of 50-55 have nasal congestion (OK, so I’m underage – but it made sense) and there is nothing better than being validated! (study found online at: http://www.ehealthme.com/cs/menopause/nasal+congestion)
After 3 rounds and 6 months – I went from a size 2 to a 12 without having time to blink! I went up so fast, I didn’t have time to buy clothes – It was ridiculous!!!
I headed straight into my husband’s gym (He is David Ashley – the best of the best!) I went on his signature diet program and started training 5 days a week with cardio in between … then I hit 170 – I thought I was going to have a stroke.
I tried diet pills, pulling back on the training – David told me I was stressing myself out so badly that the stress was not good and so I stopped.
I couldn’t take it anymore! I was depressed, I stopped reading my Bible, I quit writing my book and I even gave up the diet/exercise program – completely!
I went from 0 to bitch in 3 minutes … but if you ask David – it was 1 minute (or less maybe….)
I was on strike!
So here I am… 3 months later, 10 pounds lighter, 2 doctor visits later and back at it – this time, with more research, less stress and a game plan!
1st – Dr. – What the hell is going on with my freaking body!
Well, after getting the ultra sound back and seeing the tumor in full view, it is evident that the hysterectomy is imminent. Which is fine –
No more painful periods
No more tumor pains
No more running to the bathroom after one jump-squat
Maybe I’ll play some Trampoline volleyball (do they have that?)
But when? 6 to 8 week recovery? We just opened a new location! I have a grand opening in a month! So obviously not now…. Maybe over the holidays. Well actually it will be over the holidays – Obama care will kick in come January and they won’t do it after that, I’m pretty certain. So now is the time.
The labs still aren’t in yet – but after I have the surgery it’ll send me into full-blown menopause – I’ll increase the bitch factor by 100% – God help me! I’m already seeing my mother in my behavior – and that is not a good thing. I’m already mean – I don’t want to be intolerable! My poor husband needs some prayer!
Well only 10 days until David goes to Philadelphia to meet with the movie producers (He’s been cast in a new Christian movie) and so he’s on a major health and wellness kick!
Diet started today… Two A-Days started today – Yick I hate the treadmill! But I do love the results!!!
30 minutes 18.5 incline intervals at 3.5 – not bad for my first day back…. Of course I have a blister on my heel, a stabbing pain in my side…. But I’m done and I’m not dead.
Yeaeeeeeeee for me!!!
I’m starving. 😦
